Simon McLachlan 3

The very talented Simon McLachlan is currently featuring in Grey Gardens at the Seymour Centre .

Simon plays opposite Beth Daly and Maggie Blinco as (younger and older) Edith Bouvier Beale and Caitlin Berry as her daughter Edie, the East Hampton socialites who in the 1950’s turned recluse.

Sydney Morning Herald’s writer Jason Blake says, “interspersed with a dozen Tin Pan Alley-styled songs of varying appeal by composer Scott Frankel and lyricist Michael Korie, it’s high society meets Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull“. Read the rest of the review here.

Suzy Wrong from Suzy Go See describes “the songs are performed marvelously under Jay James-Moody’s direction. Every musical number is conceived with flair, creativity and nuance, utilising the cast’s considerable talents to great effect”. Read the review here.
